Jake Goossen-Brown
Head Coach
Coach Jake Goossen-Brown, or “Coach Goose” as he is known to his players, is a 2006 graduate of Notre Dame High School in Sherman Oaks, CA where he was a member of the 2004 CIF Division III Championship team where he helped lead the Knights to an 80-45 record and four league championships. While attending Cal State University Northridge, Coach Goossen-Brown returned to his alma mater joining the football staff led by his former coach, and all-time great, Kevin Rooney. Goossen-Brown coached both the offensive and defensive lines at NDHS, spending twelve years with the Knights. After completing his bachelor’s degree in Health Science and earning a master’s in Exercise Science and Athletic Administration, Coach Goose took a teaching job at St Genevieve High School before eventually taking over as head varsity football coach at Morro Bay High School. In only three years with the Pirates, Goossen-Brown led Morro Bay High School to its first CIF-Central Section Division Six Championship in over twenty-five years, marking a historic season that also included a CIF Southern Regional Division 7AA victory and CIF State Division 7AA runner-up in 2021. Goossen-Brown is entering his 20th year of coaching and 2nd year as the Head Coach of the Hart High football program. When not coaching, Coach Goose likes to spend time with his family; parents Tom, a hall of fame boxing promoter and former college football coach, mom Sandi, whose footsteps Coach followed into teaching, brothers Josh, a 2014 MLB draft pick and current Arizona Diamondbacks pitching coach, Justin, a current professional baseball player with the Washington Wild Things, and sisters Brittany, a boxing executive and 2023 World Boxing Council’s Woman of the Year and Riley, an all-league soccer standout at Cal Baptist University. Coach looks forward to building upon the greatness and continuing the legacy of the program at Hart using the great game of football to help student-athletes find wins, and successes, both on and off the field and becoming a member of this winning tradition.
Tim Trobec
Special Teams Coordinator / OL/DL
This is Coach Trobec's 23rd year of coaching football and is the offensive and defensive line coach. He previously was an assistant coach at Notre Dame High School and head videographer. His first year at Notre Dame he coached a future head coach by the name of Jake Goossen-Brown. Trobec is originally from Minnesota and played college football for the legendary coach John Gagliardi at Saint John's University. He currently lives in Sherman Oaks and is also an actor.
Mike Little
WR/DB
Coach Little is a graduated from Notre Dame High School, was a 3 year varsity starter 2012, 2013, 2014 where he earned 1st Team All-League, Defensive MVP. Coach Little went on to play football at Purdue University from 2015-2019 and graduated from Purdue University in 2019 and with a degree in Finance. This is his 2nd year coaching for the Hart High football program, working with the receivers and defensive backs. Coach Little reside in Valley Village with my wife Allysa.
Andrew Graves
OL/DL
This is Coach Graves’ 4th year coaching high school football and 1st year coaching at Hart. He has worked as the Varsity OL/DL coach and special teams coordinator at San Fernando HS for the past 3 seasons. He graduated from Notre Dame High School and played football at the University of New England. He also enters as the throws coach for Hart Track and Field, leaving a program with multiple state qualifiers and a 2024 league championship.
Bryce Mack
Defensive Coordinator / LB
Bryce Mack, a 2020 graduate of Chaminade High School in West Hills, California, earned a football scholarship to play at Northwestern Oklahoma State University, where he made an immediate impact on the field. After redshirting his first year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Mack went on to start for two seasons as a key member of the Ranger defense, showcasing strong leadership and versatility. Following his playing career, due to a career ending injury, he quickly transitioned into coaching, starting as a linebacker assistant coach, to working up to Assistant Defensive Coordinator under legendary NFL coach, Jerry Glanville. Mack’s rapid rise from player to coach reflects his deep understanding of the game and commitment to excellence. Coach Mack is looking forward to continue the Hart legacy and bring a C.I.F. Title back in Hart’s possession.
